Zero Emissions Noosa (ZEN) won high praise at Noosa Council’s meeting on Tuesday when councillors reviewed the organisation’s annual report and unanimously endorsed their ongoing partnership, established in December 2023.

Ron and Rochelle, long-time Peregian locals, have recently joined the electric vehicle (EV) movement by purchasing a tiny but very distinctive Mitsubishi Minicab MiEV. Inspired by their friend, who was already driving an EV, they decided to look for an affordable option that suited their needs.

Here in Noosa Shire, Zerro Emissions Noosa Inc (ZEN), together with EcoTekk Noosa, has secured a Queensland Government grant to set up the first e-bike library in Queensland.

On Sunday 4 May, there will be Sunshine Coast sustainable homes Noosa, Woombye and Reesville that are open to the public.

Sustainable House Day is an annual event run by Renew that provides the opportunity to explore some of region’s most inspiring homes, and learn from the people who designed them, built them, and live in them.

Zero Emissions Noosa Inc (ZEN) is partnering with RENEW for the open homes, webinars and forums in May to provide advice and resources to help people live more sustainably.

Over a few Saturdays in late February and early March conversations buzzed and innovative ideas for Noosa’s transport future were sparked. The events facilitated by ZEN Inc brought together community members in Noosaville and Cooroy to discuss priorities and strategies to reduce car usage and transport emissions in the Noosa Shire. 

Zero Emissions Noosa believes that how Noosa Tackles its transport woes over the next 10 years will determine whether we can continue to celebrate our uniquely liveable community.

The foundation for that future must be set in this term of council, beginning with the June 2025 Council Budget.

Noosa council’s Transport Strategy 2017-2027 was a great plan but without measurable outcomes, a clear action plan and insufficient funds it’s a failure of governance and impossible to progress, Zero Emissions Noosa (ZEN) members told council on Monday (Jan 20) before suggesting four outcomes and ways to achieve them.

“It was a huge surprise and great honour, as I knew nothing about it.

Totally Renewable Magnetic (TRM) – an organisation set up in 2020 on the

pristine Magnetic Island just 20 minutes off the coast from Townsville. The aim of Totally

Renewable Magnetic is to make Magnetic Island’s energy 100% renewable by 2030.
