ZEN grant funding updates

While ZEN Inc. has been quite successful with getting sponsorships for the EV Expo, unfortunately, we haven’t been as successful with our grant applications to assist without our project work.

Noosa Council’s Climate Change Grant for Walking & Cycling 2030

ZEN Inc. was not successful with this grant application to Noosa Council to undertake community consultation on paid parking as a way of funding missing links in the Noosa Council Walking & Cycling Strategy. This project was designed to bring forward actions in the Walking & Cycling Strategy to help get people out of cars and onto bikes & scooters & walking to reduce emissions and help Council and ZEN Inc’s to get to our target of net zero GHG in the Noosa community by 2026. Some of Council’s Walking & Cycling Strategy actions are not funded until 2040!

Anne Kennedy & Carina Anderson, ZEN Inc. reps. on the Climate Change Response Plan Community Reference Group (CCRP CRG) will follow and continue to advocate for funding for these actions to be brought forward.

Grants for the 2023 Noosa EV Expo

1. Tourism Qld’s Development Events Program (QDEP)

If we had been successful, this funding would have enabled ZEN Inc. to undertake a much wider marketing campaign, through more marketing channels, including TV advertising of the EV Expo. Back to the drawing board and sharpening the pencil for our marketing campaign.

2. Energex Community Fund Grants 2022

Unfortunately, ZEN Inc. did not receive this funding that was to help pay for our event manager for the 2023 EV Expo.

We are still waiting on the outcome of 3 other grants:

  1. Qld. Govt. Gambling Community Benefit Fund -for equipment hire, printing & AV.

  2. Qld. Government Sponsorship Grant (Major) – for sponsorship of the event

  3. Tourism Noosa Event Funding for 2024 EV Expo
